Intro to Active Solar
Is solar a viable option for your home? Our Solar Angles lecture in the DESIGN BUILD CLASS teaches you how to site your home to capture both active and passive energy using a compass and climate maps. In today’s uncertain energy market many past students and current customers are asking us about active solar. Our guest speakers include REVISION ENERGY who will discuss viable renewable energy options including: solar electricity, solar hot water, and wood fired boilers. And homeowner, Ben Tipton who lives in a timber frame home designed and built by Shelter Institute that has a full solar electric and solar hot water system designed and built by Revision Energy. Our presenters will be discussing renewable energy applications for your home, the costs of these systems, your return on investment, and present a slideshow of completed projects.
The program will last about an hour and will include time for questions and answers. This is a FREE one hour workshop with a question and answer session at the end but you must register in advance as space is limited. Send an email with your name, address and phone number as well as the class subject and date to info@shelterinstitute.com or call 207-442-7938 to reserve your spot today.
