This is an excellent starter kit for any child interested in carving. It comes with a bass wood blank in the shape of a dolphin, a high carbon knife with a 2-inch long blade and an over all length of 5-1/2inches. The knife comes in a leather sheath that can be attached to a belt or belt loop with the caribeener that is inlcuded. And best of all, a small slip water stone (800 grit) essential for sharpening the knife and ensuring years of enjoyment.

Carving is an age-old method for shaping wood. This form of art requires sharp tools. The Terra Kids carving knife is therefore not suited for use by children under eight years of age. It is the parent or guardians responsibility to decide if a child is ready to use a knife and to watch and assist them the entire time they are carving to prevent any injuries. Please read the enclosed instructions carefully. If your child follows the saftey tips, he or she is sure to discover the thrill of creative wood carving. It improves eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.
