Handmade in the U.S.A. -- this tool means business. It isn't an axe, really, or a machete--but just looking at it you can think of a million and one ways it could help you clear brush. Trim, prune, blaze trails, brush out lines, remove unwanted growth, build duck blinds make a trail or simply clean up the yard, the Woodman's Pal will do it all.
This is one of very few tools designed by Americans, made of American materials and crafted with 23 meticulous hand operations by Pennsylvania workers. It is lightweight (23 oz.) 17-inches long. Beautifully balanced with a handle designed to be held in two different directions: an extension of, rather than a burden to, your arm.
The specially annealed high carbon steel blade will not crack or chip even in sub-zero temperatures. The concave axe blade is convex ground for extreme strength and will cut wood up to 1-2/ inches in diameter with a single stroke. The chisel sharp sickle hook slices through stubborn vines and briers, and removes unwanted sprout growth at ground level. The black oxide coating prevents rust and corrosion. The safety toe extending one inch up the axe side of the tool reduces risk of deflective injuries. It comes in a nylon sheath that can be attached to your belt and a handy 1x4 inch sharpening stone.
The Woodman's Tool has been a standard piece of military equipment since 1941. Made by Pro Tool Industries: "for discriminating customers with impeccable taste who demand only the best. Since 1941 . . . what worked then still works now. Quality never goes out of style."
