14x20 Hennin Post & Beam Boat House
We designed this frame for those with a smaller lot or need for a smaller structure using traditional all wood joinery. Great for use as a starter cottage on your land, dry storage, workshop, bedroom addition, garage, one-horse barn, guest cabin (for the guest who you can only tolerate for short visits), or as the design title suggests, a boat house. Expand this frame in 10-ft increments.
14' BENT PRICING*
This kit is engineered to accommodate comfortable living and storage spaces using traditional, all wood joinery. Wedged half-dovetail mortice and tenon joints lock these timbers together tightly.
14’x10’ bent modules allow this kit to be expanded to virtually any length! Place two or more kits side by side, offset, or add a shed to any face of the structure to vary the roof line. The possibilites are endless. Estimate for adding an additional 10 foot bent is decribed below.
Our kits exceed the R-value requirements of the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The details of the structure as well as the insulation can be modified to meet your project, site and budget needs. Remember, most of the timber frames that we build are custom designed!

The Wood: We can build these frames with nearly any wood species. Timbers are carefully selected for appearance. Prices above are for Eastern Hemlock or Eastern White Pine. Green timbers are planed, chamfered, and oiled to protect the surface, reduce checking, and slow the drying process. All timbers are planed full dimension unless otherwise specified.
Kits include all pegs and wedges, as well as nominal 2-inch tongue and groove decking on the second floor.
Curved or straight braces are available per your specification.
