Join local print maker, Quincy Brimstein, in a fun and informative workshop on the foundations of woodblock printing. In this two day course, students will gain historical and technical knowledge as well as artistic skills to independently create high-quality woodblock prints. Students will learn how to convert a drawing or photograph into a carve-able design, how to safely carve a woodblock, care for tools, and print a small edition of archival prints by hand. Students are encouraged to bring their own designs (must fit within 8” x 6”), but a variety of templates will be available for students to carve. No experience necessary, all levels are welcome!<br><br> Materials will be provided, although students are encouraged to their own basic drawing/drafting supplies.<br><br> Class is limited to 12 students.
