We have hunted high and low to find a single-sided rip saw that is worthy of timber framing and we finally found it! Made by Z-Saw, this specialty saw cuts on the pull stroke and has single bevel, graduated teeth that are impulse hardened to ensure a long-lasting edge. The teeth are 8 TPI at the back-end of the blade and taper out to 5 TPI at the front tip. The blade is removable for an easy fit into your tool box or for replacement should you ever manage to dull it.
Although we love the versatility and ease of the Ryoba saws with a rip tooth on one side and cross cut tooth on the other, there is something to be said for a one-sided rip blade.
