We accept returns on new, unused merchandise in original packaging only.
Special orders may be returned only with the supplier's approval and will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. Most special order items are not returnable.
All custom cut goods are not returnable (e.g. window treatment material, pipe for clamps, carving wood, etcetera).
Fine woodworking tools are intended for use by experienced woodworkers. Misused tools may not be returned and are only guaranteed against factory defect.
If you purchased an item at our store or online and wish to return an item or items, please call (207) 442-7938 to make arrangements. In general, we do not pay for return shipping. Returns are taken on a case by case basis.
We make no warranty on any of the products we carry beyond the original manufacturers warranty.
What are Shelter's shipping options?
Shipping is generally through UPS. Shipping charges are calculated based on weight and your zip code.
On the checkout page, you will be presented with the shipping options for your order. We do not charge for some items, such as class registrations and gift certificates.
We can ship UPS ground, 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air, or Next Day Air, and the associated costs are presented on the checkout page. If you have a particularly urgent need to receive your package more quickly than UPS Ground, we suggest that you call to put us on notice and confirm pickup times and estimated delivery dates at (207) 442-7938.

Can I track my package? When will my order ship?
Your tracking number will be sent via another email when your shipping is processed. Shelter Tools ships every business day through UPS directly from our store in Woolwich, ME. When appropriate, we also use USPS MAIL for envelope items such as class registration or gift certificates and there is no charge for mailing these items.
I'm an international customer. Can I register for a course or order an item?
Yes, we have many international students and customers. Unfortunately, we can not process international orders online. For more information, please contact us or read our international registration and orders policy.
